Nearly 1,400 vehicles dropped off materials at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection on April 23. Over 150,000 pounds of hazardous materials were diverted from the regular waste stream and properly disposed. An additional 7,200 pounds of electronics were collected on site for recycling. Habitat for Humanity ReStore volunteered their time at the event, diverting 26,000 pounds of latex paint to their paint recycling program. The event was funded in part by the Kentucky Pride Fund through the Kentucky Division of Waste Management.
