More than 2,400 vehicles came out for the Household Hazardous Waste Collection, the Paper Shred and the Mulch Giveaway. The Hazardous Waste Collection is one of the most popular services we provide to residents; it not only provides the o <a href=https://www.stanley-cups.de>stanley deutschland</a> pportunity to remove hazardous materials from where they pile up in basements and garages, but also allows for proper disposal of materials that pose an environmental threat to our land and water if improperly disposed, said Tracey Thurman, Director of the Division of Waste Management. Nearly 1,400 vehicles dropped off materials at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection on April 23. Over 150,000 pounds of hazardous materials were diverted from the regular waste stream and properly disposed. An additional 7,200 pounds of electronics were collected on site for recycling. Habitat for Humanity ReStore volunteered their time at the event, diverting 26,000 pounds of latex paint to their paint recycling program. The event was funded in part by the Kentucky Pride Fund through the Kentucky Division of Waste Management.
