Nhej Charles McGonigal, ex-FBI official, pleads guilty to concealing $225,000 in payments
The following is a transcript of an interv stanley tumbler iew with New York City Mayor Eric Adams that aired Sunday, April 3, 2022, on Face the Nation. MARGARET BRENNAN: We turn now to the stunning increase in violent crime, and fighting that increase is one of the top priorities for New York City s new mayor, Eric Adams. Good morning to you, Mr. Mayor. Good to have you in-studio.MAYOR ERIC ADAMS: Thank you. Good to be here. MARGARET BRENNAN: New York City is- with the highest number of shootings in a decade, more than 40% spike in homicides over stanley cup the last two years. You have some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Where are all these weapons coming from MAYOR ADAMS: That s a great question, and in my conversation with the president and the chief of staff yesterday, we talked about just the flow of guns through our- our inner cities. A few days ago, I was in Chicago with Mayor Lightfoot, who took several thousands of guns off the street last year. And here in New York, we re doing the same. We really have to have a combination. We have to stop the flow of guns. But we must also do the job of getting the guns off the streets that s on there now. And my anti-gun unit, they re doing that. Just a few weeks out, they removed stanley cups over 20-something guns off the street. But here s the interesting number: 70% of those who were carrying the guns had prior violent offenses. So we need to combine with that small number of people who are carrying guns with the lar Jtvj The Double Talk Express
Hillary Rodham Clinton vs. Colin Powell in 2006 That s the political heavyweight matchup envisioned by a Republican congressman who is urging the outgoing secretary of State to r stanley thermobecher eturn to New stanley nz York and challenge the first-term senator.Rep. Vito Fosse stanley cup lla of New York said he spoke to Powell on Tuesday and made the case for the retired four-star general to enlist in the Republican Party s effort to defeat Clinton, a standard-bearer for the Democrats. His roots and heart have always been in New York. I think he d make a great representative and I urge him strongly to consider running, Fossella said. The son of Jamaican immigrants, Powell was born and raised in New York City. Clinton s 2006 re-election bid is already drawing national attention, in part because of its implications for the 2008 presidential race. The former first lady is seen as an early front-runner among Democrats. Two names often mentioned as potential GOP challengers to Clinton in 2006 are also considered possible presidential candidates two years later: former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and New York Gov. George Pataki.Fossella said he wants Powell to enter the race in part because he doubts that either Pataki or Giuliani is seriously weighing a campaign against Clinton. I don t see any inclination that either one will run at this point in time, Fossella said. Whoever wants to run has got to start laying the seeds and setting the stage to do so.

GOP leaders told the House Republican conference in a meetin botella stanley g Tuesday morning that the party s presumptive nominee Donald Trump will be addressing the lawmakers caucus on July 7, CBS News Steven Portnoy reports.Last week, House Speaker Paul Ryan reaffirmed his endorsement of Trump amid criticism over Trump s commen stanley termohrnek ts suggesting the judge presiding over the Trump University civil lawsuits Judge Gonzalo Curiel, could be biased because of his Mexican heritage. Hillary Clinton says the Democratic Party is stuck in a very tough spot as party leaders debate whether--and how--to seat delegates from Florida and Michigan at the nominating convention this August. And Clinton s latest comments, in an interview with U.S. News yesterday, won t make resolving the fuss any easier. Many Democrats want a revote in both states, since the Democratic National Committee disqualified all their delegates because the states primaries were held too early in violation of party rules. Some party officials are suggesting caucuses as an option to get the delegates qualified--but that doesn t pass muster with Clinton. I would not accept a caucus, she told us. I think that would be a great disservice to the 2 million people who turned out and voted. I think that they want t stanley trinkflaschen heir votes counted. Florida held its primary January 29 and Michigan January 15. Clinton won both, although Obama s name wasn t on the ballot in Michigan and both candidates agreed not to campaign in either state, in deference t stanley mug o party rules. Caucuses, held in living rooms, schools, and other neighborhood locations, are a less costly way of nominating delegates than primaries, which require more supervisory personnel and equipment. And the turnout is usually much lower in caucuses, since several hours are needed to participate rather than a f stanley nz ew minutes at a voting booth. But there is a political reason for Clinton s opposition: Barack Obama has domi

ST. LOUIS mdash; Millions of Americans were watching Thursday nightrsquo vice-presidential debate waiting for a demolition derby moment mdash; another crash by GOP running mate Sarah Palin, another serving of raw material for the writers at Saturday Night Live. By that standard, she got out alive, though there were white-knuckle moments along the way: questions that were answered with painfully obvious talking points that betrayed scant knowledge of the issue at hand, and sometimes little relevance to the question that had been asked. But recent days have given John McCainrsquo team little reason to suppose that not-that-bad is good enough. The Republican ticketrsquo sliding polls and narrowing electoral map gave it a different imperative in her showdown against Joe Biden. Donald Trump is focusing on battleground states, looking for last-minute support.Historically, presidential races tend to tighten in the closing days, and Donald Trumprsquo campaign believes therersquo a hidden Trump vote worth four or five points.
