Qhtb Why the battle over Louisiana s voting map could have national election implications
Mi stanley cup tt Romney campaigns last week in Wayne, Pa. Photo by Bill O ;Leary/The Washington Post via Getty Images.Heading into Wednesday night debate, President Obama holds a narrow lead over Mitt Romney nationally and a more sizeable advantage in the battleground states that will ultimately decided the November election.According to the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll, the president is running ahead of his GOP rival, 49 percent to 47 percent, among likely voters across the country. But in the key tossu stanley cup p states, voters prefer the president over Romney by a margin of 52 percent to 41 percent. The Post/ABC findings are consistent with other recent surveys from other organizations. The first presidential debate, which is Wednesday in Denver, offers Romney perhaps his best shot in the next five weeks of shifting the dynamics of the campaign.Even so, with 36 days till Election Day and early voting happening across the country, an overwhelming nu stanley cup mber of voters say their minds are already made up. Eighty-six percent of voters responded in the Post/ABC poll that they would definitely vote for their chosen candidate, while just 13 percent said there a chance they could change their minds. Even then, of that 13 percent, only 3 percent said there was a good chance, compared to 10 percent who said it was unlikely. WASHINGTON AP 鈥?President Joe Biden administration is taking steps to expand availability of the life-saving COVID-19 antiviral treatment Paxlovid, as it seeks to reassure doctors that there is ample supply for people at high risk of severe illness or death from the virus.Paxlovid, produced by Pfizer, was first approved in December. Supply of the regimen was initially very limited, but as COVID-19 cases across the country have fallen and manufacturing has increased it is now far more abundant. The White House is now moving to raise awareness of the pill and taking steps to make it easier to access.READ MORE: Researchers testing adidas samba og combination shots as a possible new kind of COVID boosterThe White House said Tuesday it is stepping up outreach adidas originals to doctors, letting them know they shouldn ;t think twice about prescribing the pill to eligible patients. It is also announcing that the drug will now be distributed directly to pharmacies, in addition to existing distribution channels run by states. That is expected to boost the number of sites from 20,000 to more than 30,000 next week and eventually to 40,000 locations. The administration bel air force 1 ieves the pharmacy channel, which it used to boost availability of COVID-19 vaccines more than a year ago, will similarly make the antiviral pills more available to people. The bottom line is that we want to make this therapeutic available to all Americans, Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House COVID-19 response coordinator, said

Cqhx Design a terrible scientific study this weekend!
The day Grayson James Walker was born, his parents鈥擧eather and Patrick Walker, of Memphis, Tennessee鈥攌new their time with him would be brief. Grayson had been diagnosed in utero with a rare neural tube birth defect called Anencephaly, in which a baby is born without parts of the brain and skull. To honor the memory of their son short life, the Walkers sought out help from a non profit organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep, who sent a professional photographer to the hospital to capture on film the short life of the little baby Grayson. Wanting to share with her friends and family the little life that had come and gone, Heather Walker posted the photos to stanley puodelis her Facebook profile. A tiny newborn in a knit hat, without a knit hat, in his mother arms, in his father . All perfectly appropriate birthday images. So, why did Facebook remove them from Heather profile And subsequently, after Heather reposted this pictures and got her friends and family to contact Facebook, she was banned from the site entirely. The Back to the Future Hoverboard by Mattel is not a hoverboard. It a board at best. Really, it just a piece of chintzy pink plastic that you can buy for $120 if you ;re a jerk. It doesn ;t hover. The bar for high tech toys was set low by this year hell stanley termosy -creature Furby, which we banished to a prison dimension reserved for space criminals after our review. But at least that was exciting, in the same sense that a brain hemorrhage or chair made out of poison is stanley cup exciting. The hoverboard is just a fraud. And that really hurts, because we ;ve been looking forward to this for almost a year. https://gizmodo/the-new-furby-review-absolute-horror-5937402 Now for the most part, we ;re not idiots at Gizmodo. We didn ;t expect an actual flying hoverboard as depicted in the film, because that impossible. For now. But for over a hundred bucks, we expected something better than this. Mattel goes so far as to promise the following from its official movie replica: Be assured your Hoverboard will gently glide over most level surfaces. Gently glide! Be assured! It doesn ;t. Not even a little bit. Not gently, not roughly, not at all. There is zero gliding of any kind, because the thing is just a piece of plastic with a AA ba stanley cup ttery compartment and muddled movie sound effects that doesn ;t really correspond much to stepping on it. Yes, you can step on it. You can put a loose velcro strap over one of your feet and stand on

We ;ve all experienced food cravings. In general they tend to be for things like potato chips, ice cream, and other high-calorie foods that doctors say will murder us. Some cravings, though, are the result of deep and correct instincts, telling us what we need to eat to stay alive. Here are ten ways your body inner pharmacist tries to make you want what good for you. 10. When you crave dirt you need to detox Either that or you ;re pregnant. Pregnant women have been known to crave dirt. Some say that it because they need calcium. As late as the nineties, some markets actually sold dirt for this kind of human consumption. And gaining calcium might still be the case for those currently knocked-up, but dirt also seems to be a good way to detox internally. It was once thought that only humans and macaws ate clay, but stanley canada recently researchers have observed more and more species doing it. They notice, especially, that animals do it i stanley termoska n seasons when fruits aren ;t yet ripe. Unripe fruits and berries contain alkaloids. They have been found to be toxic to humans and animals alike. Certain people today smear clay on unripe potatoes, which contain solanine, a bitter and toxic alkaloid. Clay contains kaolin, which neutralizes the bitter taste, and takes out the alkaloids, making the food safe and tasty. When people get stanley cup becher a craving to eat clay, they ;re acting on ancient, and correct, instincts that tell them they ;ve been poisoned. 9. Gizmodo alumnus Mat Honan got hacked this weekend. It was bad. But that not the worst part. Worse is that Apple knows exactly how easy this is, and hasn ;t done a thing to stop it. And Amazon accounts are in just as much danger. How It Happened Honan has a chilling account of Apple and Amazon security flaws over at Wired today. He actually been in contact with his hacker, Phobia, and using the information he got there, has been able to confirm that Apple has been aware of the security issue. Here how it works: But what happened to me exposes vital security flaws in several customer service systems, most notably Apple and Amazon . Apple tech support gave the hackers access to my iCloud accou stanley cups nt. Amazon t stanley vattenflaska ech support gave them the ability to see a piece of information a partial credit card number that Apple used to release information. In short, the very four digits that Amazon considers unimportant enough to display in the clear on the Web are precisely the same ones that Apple considers secure enough to perform identity verification. The disconnect exposes flaws in data management policies endemic to the entire technology industry, and points to a looming nightmare as we enter the era of cloud computing and connected devices. To break that into a m stanley mug ore digestible flow chart: Amazon or PayPal cough up the last four digits of your credit card. As part of DC New 52 relaunch last September, the long-running series Detective Comics rebooted with a newfound focus on Batman early c stanley us areer. io9 recently caught up with Detective Comics writer/artist Tony Daniels and asked him how the Bat salad days will go. Your relaunch of Detec stanley cup deutschland tive Comics takes place both in the New 52 universe and at an earlier point in Batman career. Did you add any sort of tweaks to Batman beginnings Two things that I thought would be a great adjustment during this period was to 1. Bring Arkham Asylum back into his origin and have Jeremiah Arkham running the asylum again. It was the perfect opportunity to put it back to where it should be. The general audience knows what Arkham Asylum is, and many of them might even know that it run by a guy named Dr. Arkham. 2 is adjusting Batman relationship with Commissioner Gordon and not having them be bosom buddies so much. LAHAINA, Hawaii AP 鈥?Hawaii emergency management records show no indication that warning sirens sounded before people ran for their lives from wildfires on Maui that killed at least 55 people and wiped out a historic town. Instead, officials sent alerts to mobile phones, televisions and radio stations 鈥?but widespread power and cellular outages may have limited their reach.Hawaii boasts what the state describes as the largest integrated outdoor all-hazard public safety warning system in the world, with about 400 sirens positioned across the island chain to alert people to various natural disasters and other threats. But nike dunk many of survivors said in interviews Thursday that they didnt hear any sirens or receive a warning that gave them enough time to prepare, only realizing they were in danger when they saw flames or hea yeezy rd explosions nearby. The wildfires are the states deadliest natural disaster since a 1960 tsunami that killed 61 people. Gov. Josh Green warned the death toll will likely rise as search and rescue operations continue. Ipes This Week s TV: Iron Man s Most Dangerous Battle Yet! Plus the Return of 6 Awesome Shows!
I don ;t really have much to say about last night episode of Fringe. It felt 8230; half baked. And not in a delicious chunky ice cream way. More in a we threw in a bunch of ideas to see if any of them would stick to something way. Spoilers ahead 8230; So basically, we ;re going to be doing the 8220 cavenger hunt storyline all season on Fringe, it seems like. And that going to provide us with an excuse for freak of the week stories, of some sort or another, as the stanley usa team travels around the post-apocalyptic countryside stanley shop and searches for the ingredients of Walter plan to defeat the Observers. And, presumably, also for more Betamax video tapes that Walter squirreled away somewhere. Even as Walter Bishop schemes go, the notion of hiding the fool proof anti-Observer plan in this fashion is pretty nutty. It relies on: A People figuring out how to get stuff out of amber, but the Observers never mastering that technique, or not stanley cup caring enough to bother. B Betamax tapes still being playable after umpteen years and the rough treatment required to get them out of amber. C Whoever watches the tapes having the highly specific technical knowledge to understand Walter jargon. Obviously, the main point of all this is to give our heroes a quest, and also to get them out of the cities, where the show has to spend a lot of money on CG matte shots of the Observer-dominated world. And also, to keep our heroes fro Yyzm The Spectacular Last Flight of Space Shuttle Endeavour In Ultra-HD Video
With gesture controls becoming more common in software and apps, it makes sense to maximize the stanley polska size of a laptop touchpad to facilitate more than just a couple of fingers. So researchers at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have developed the Longpad, an oversized touchpad that as stanley thermobecher wide as a keyboard and smart enough to ignore the user hands when they ;re typing stanley cup . Instead of a capacitive surface that can ;t distinguish the skin on your fingertips from the skin on your elbow, the Longpad uses an array of thin infrared LEDs alongside light sensors that are able to detect the light bouncing back on them. By creating profiles of how different parts of the hand reflect the infrared light, the researchers are able to program the Longpad to ignore accidental touches from the palm and pad during typing, while still recognizing and acknowledging gestures from the user fingertips. <YouTube>via NewScientist] gestures
