Tim Kaine D-VA and Rob聽Portman聽 R-OH introduced the聽Jumpstart Our Businesses By Supporting Students聽 JOBS 聽Act, a bill tha <a href=https://www.stanleymug.us>starbucks stanley cup</a> t聽would聽help students access training for聽the 7.3 million vacant jobs聽that are unfilled in part due聽to a shortage of qualified聽workers.The聽JOBS Act聽would close聽this聽 skills-gap 聽by聽expanding聽Pell Grant eligibility to cover high-quality and rigorous short-term job training programs so workers can聽afford the skills training and credentials that are in high-demand in todays job market. Under current law, Pell Grants 鈥?needs-based grants for low-income and working students 鈥?can only be applied toward programs that are over 600 clock hours or at least 15 weeks in length, even though many job training programs are shorter term. In Virginia, the Virginia <a href=https://www.stanley-cups.at>stanley becher</a> Community College System has identified approximately 50 programs that would benefit from the聽JOBS Act聽including in the fields of manufacturing, architecture/construction, energy, health care, information technology, transportation, and business management and administration. The legislation updates an earlier version of the bill that Kaine and聽Portman聽introduced in the 115th Congress.聽 We need to broaden our definition of higher education to include quality career and technical programs. Folding clothes this morning, I came across the long-sleeve running shirt that Id had to wear for my Sunday-morning run at the high-school track.Four days ago, I ran in the afternoon with temperatures in the low 50s, a 20-mph wind, and I could see my breath.As Im writing this, were on our way to a high of 88, our third straight day in the 80s.It was barely even 70 up to this point this spring, after a winter of almost nothing in the way of snow and cold weather gave way to an odd <a href=https://www.cups-stanley-cups.co.uk>stanley cup</a> first six weeks of spring, with two snowstorms, one dumping almost a foot of the white stuff, and several days of bitter cold temperatures and winds.Which is, yeah, I know, the weather, cant do nuthin about it.Even so, Im complaining, wondering if theres somebody I can sue, basically.See, its supposed to be gradual.
