Siic Omaha Shooter s Suicide Note Revealed
With a staff of millions and an annual budget of around $670 billion, it should come as no surprise that the U.S. Department of Defense has engaged in some wasteful spending. A new report by the Center for Public Integrity, however, claims the Pentagon s financial ledgers are worse than imagined.Essentially, the DOD does not have and has never really had reliabl stanley cup e mechanisms for showing proof of where the billions in taxpayers dollars are going exactly, and efforts to create those mechanisms are turning out to be more time-consuming, complicated and expensive than imagined. The DOD has already promised to clean up its accounting practices for public scrutiny by 2017, and has pledged an estimated $300 million annually to do just that. They will likely need an additional $1 billion to meet that stanley bottles goal, CPI reports, and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is allegedly poised to announce a speeding-up of the auditing process, which might raise the cost of reigning in spending even more. The CPI report states: Experts say the Pentagon s account stanley thermos ing has never been reliable. A lengthy effort by the military services to implement new financial systems at a cost so far of more than $6 billion has itself been plagued by overruns and delays, senior defense officials say. CBS News There is new focus in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation on the widow of suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Investigators have identified female DNA on a fragment of one of the bombs used in Boston. It s not clear what that means -- the DNA could have come from an injured spectator, or perhaps from a clerk who sold the materials used in the bombs, according to law enforcement sources. stanley cups uk But, there s also a chance, it could lead the FBI to a female accomplice. U.S. officials tell CBS News Bob Orr that FBI agents on Monday visited the Rhod stanley cups e Island family home of Katherine Russell, the widow of accused bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev.Complete coverage: Boston bombingsSources: Female DNA found on Boston bomb fragment Sources say agents were there to collect a DNA sample from Russell to compare it against the female DNA found on a bomb fragment at the blast scene. Investigators say a lab test could help them determine if Russell ever had contact with the device. Investigators say Russell is not a suspect and hasn t been charged in the plot. As a Colorado community mourns the loss of seven students who recently killed themselves, a school district official ordered librarians to temporarily stop circulating a book thats the basis for Netflixs popular new series 13 Reasons Why, which some critics say romanticizes suicide. The order rankled some librarians who called it censorship, and it appears to be a rare instance in which the book has been removed from circulation 鈥?albeit briefly. It also has highlighted the debate salomonschuhe about balancing freed adidas originals forum om of speech with concerns about students. It would be hard for anybody who has dealt with suicide to not have a heightened awar hoka wanderschuh eness of things, to perhaps be a little more cautious about things, said Leigh Grasso, the curriculum director for the 22,000-student Mesa County Valley School District who decided to pull the book. The young adult novel, published in 2007, follows a high school girl who kills herself after creating a series of tapes for her classmates to play after her death. She gave the tapes to people who influenced her decision. Her death in the Netflix series is depicted in the final episode of the first season, and the graphic scene has prompted schools across the country to send letters to parents and guardians with tips on how to prevent suicide. From upstate New York to the Midwest and California, school administrators have warned that the series sensationalizes suicide and does not provide a good roadmap for people struggling with mental illness. Former Vice President Mike Pence sat down for an exclusive interview with Scripps News Political Director Andrew Rafferty on Tuesday.Read the full transcript:Rafferty: Mr. Vice President, thank you for joining Scripps News.Pence: Thank you, Andrew. Good to be with you.Rafferty: I want to ask about one of the reasons you re in Iowa, and that is parental rights.Pence: Right.Rafferty: It is an issue that s driving conservatives across the country and here in Iowa, the idea that they should, parents should have more access to their children s education, what they re reading, as well as conversations about identity and gender. And so I m interested in know, what do parental rights mean to you Pence: Well, you know, I m a father of three. I m a grandfather of three. And there are no more important rights, Andrew, than the right of parents in this country to make the most important decisions about their children. It s one of the reasons I m so enthusiastic about what Iowa has done, what Indiana s done and a handful of other states, in extending universal school choice. I mean, now here in Iowa, as in my home state of Indiana, parents are able to choose where their children go to school, whether it s public, private, parochial or even home school, and let the taxpayer dollars follow them. I stanley cups think this is an idea whose time has come. SARASOTA, Fla. 鈥?Sarasota Police Officers plan to start cracking down on CBD shops that they say are breaking the law. CBD is a hemp product that i stanley becher s supposed to relieve anxiety and ailments. Sarasota Police Investigator Michael Harrell said most CBD shops are breaking state law. They plan to start issuing warnings, then shutting shops down. In Florida you cannot sell a cannabis product period, unless you are one of the licensed medical marijauna dispensaries, said Harrell. We are going to make sure they stop selling this stuff, because it is a public safety risk. People could be buying this under the assumption that its not a cannabis product or it doesnt have thc in it. Shelby Isaacson believes in CBD so much that she opened a shop. You arent stressed on CBD and you live a more fulfilled life, at least I do, said Isaacson. Her downtown Sarasota shop, Second and Seed, sells oils, creams and even coffee. She said her products are legal because th stanley cup ey contain microscopic levels of THC, which is allowed by federal law. This is the non psychoactive part of cannabis and there is starbucks stanley cup a lot of confusion around that, said Isaacson. Harrell said they already took action on one CBD dispensary. They plan to issuing warning letters to other shops soon. Isaacson said she is hiring a lawyer to fight for her clients. Thats what I do what I do we can help people like that live a more normal, full life, said Isaacson.

Mild weather during the work week, winter in full force on the weekends.Forecasters predicted the warm weather in the Northeast would be blown away by gusty winds Friday, to be followed by bitter cold. But the already-cold northern Plains will get colder, says CBS News meteorologist George Cullen. A good part of the country will have temperatures no better than zero today, and that will extend from Wisconsin into Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana, and temperatures tonight will bottom out well below zero in over twenty states, Cullen said.High temperatures Friday in North Dakota, for example, were expected to range from 3 below to 11 below. The wind chill in Dickinson, N.D., hit 30 below Thursday, but Tracy Tooz and his construction crew kept working on a housing development there. It s pretty nasty, Tooz said. I don t know anybody who likes this polar bear climate. Forecasters said people who don t take precautions against the cold weather could suffer frostbite or hypothermia.
