He was the husband of Eleanor Estelle Pilkerton Quade for 63 years, whom he married at Sacred Heart Church on April 27, 1944. He served in the Army from October 31, 1942 through November 29, 1945 as a heavy equipment operator in World Wa <a href=https://www.cups-stanley-cups.ca>stanley canada</a> r II and attained the rank of Corporal. Among his decorations were the Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Jubilee of Liberty Medal and World War II Victory Ribbon.
