MADISON, Wis. 鈥?The Henry Vilas Zoo s 14-year-old red panda named Tai has been diagnosed with cancer, the zoo announced on Facebook Tuesday morning. The zoo said it began to notice a change in Tai shortly after the arrival of a young red panda named Bandit. Bandit is 12 years younger than Tai. Tai was given medication and separated from Bandit to give her some space to recuperate, the zoo says. Tai lacked improvement and eventually became less interested in her food. After a CT scan at the UW Vet School, zoo officials learned Tai s bones had stanley italia changes consistent with a type of cancer called multiple myeloma or plasma cell tumor. There isnt a lot of information about how this cancer could progress in a red panda, but there stanley cups is literature that indicates that dogs and cats can respond well to chemotherapy and steroids, the zoo said on Facebook. Tai had a couple more tests done last week to determine the appropriate type of chemotherapy to administer and we were able to give her some special medication to strengthen her weakened bones. Tai will be treated at the zoo s Animal Health Center as she goes through chemo. W stanley cup usa hile we are devastated by this diagnosis, we are so appreciative for the amazing support we receive from our UW Special Species vets and are grateful for all of the expertise we have access to with the other UW Vet departments, Henry Vilas Zoo said.To read the full announcement from the Henry Vilas Zoo, head to their Facebook page.Report a typo or error // Submit a n Tqwy Production at world s largest chocolate factory halted after salmonella infection
DENVER, Colo. -- Jason McBride has been handing out backpacks full of school supplies to the kids in the Denver, Colorado commun stanley sverige ity he grew up in. Two sets of pencils, erasers, ruler, everything is in here, McBride said.Hes the founder of a community organization called The McBride Impact that aims to help kids in Black and brown communities achieve equity, equality, employment and education. One of his current missions is to set up learning pods. Our kids in our community are already behind, and most of our families dont have the luxury of having a two-parent household where one parent stays home and can keep track of those kids, McBride said. A lot of our households are single parents, or if they are two parents, both parents have to work. A learning pod 鈥?also referred to as a pandemic pod 鈥?is a small, in-person group of students learning together with the help of an in-person tutor, teacher, or caregiver. Theyve been popping up across the nation as many schools arent offering in-person classes.McBride says its all about havin stanley vattenflaska g a safe space. If we just kind of let these kids kind of hang out and walk neighborhoods, theyre not going to be safe, McBride said. So, we need to offer them somewhere where they can come in, and get their work done, get help, but have a safe place where they can do that. The nationwide pandemic pod popularity really took of stanley water jug f after the creation of a Pandemic Pod Facebook group in San Francisco founded by Lian Chikako Chang.
